Vehicles Covered:
Any sold or registered vehicle that is designed for transporting persons is covered under the District of Columbia Lemon Law. Those excluded from the list are buses, motorcycles, motor homes and recreational vehicles.
Repair Intervals:
A car will qualify as a lemon only if it has undergone a minimum of 4 repair attempts or has been out of service for 30 days.
Coverage Period: A vehicle can qualify as a lemon only if it is less than 2 years old and has covered less that 18,000 miles.
