Vehicles Covered:
Hawaii Lemon Law covers any self-propelled leased, purchased or registered vehicle, primarily designed for the transportation of persons or property over the public highways. This law applies only to the chassis portion of motor homes and does not include motorcycles or trucks with 10,000 pounds or more GVW.
Repair Intervals: Vehicles that have undergone 1 repair attempt for a defect that might cause death or serious injury or 3 repair attempts or have been out of service for 30 business days can qualify as a lemon.
Coverage Period: A vehicle can qualify as a lemon only if it is less than 2 years old, is still under warranty and has covered less that 24,000 miles.
